Cascade Hills Country Club Launches New Website & Refreshed Online Brand

Cascade Hills Country Club (MI) and Clubessential are excited to announce the recent launch of the new and improved CascadeHillsCC.com, which features an updated online brand identity, online tee times, a mobile-optimized version, and much more.

Since 1916, Cascade Hills Country Club has been a staple in the lives of thousands of people in Grand Rapids, Michigan. One of Michigan’s premier private clubs, CHCC offers guests and members access to championship caliber golf, fine dining, first-class spa treatments and facilities, and more.

When CHCC approached Clubessential in late 2013 regarding redesigning the website, they had two primary goals relating to the project:

1.) Give the online presence (both desktop and mobile) a fresh look and feel to better engage members and prospective members, and;
2.) Offer members the ability to book online tee times through the website.

The CHCC team had good reason to believe Clubessential would deliver on those goals.

“We’ve been partners with Clubessential for a long time,” said Brandy Arnold, Communications Coordinator at Cascade Hills Country Club. “In fact, we were one of Clubessential’s first clients. Not only has the customer service always been excellent, Clubessential also makes every effort to keep up with technology trends, which reinforced our belief that Clubessential could bring our online presence up to date.”

Clubessential, in turn, also had good reason to believe that Brandy and her teammate for the project, Lauren Brumley (Membership Director at CHCC), would excel at leading the project.

General Manager, Dana Carlson, hand-picked the duo to take ownership of the project on the CHCC end. “I had a very small part in the redesign,” said Dana. “Brandy and Lauren are very talented, so I let them take the lead. Sure I gave some input on the direction of the design, but at the end of the day I leaned on Brandy and Lauren, and the Clubessential team, since Clubessential has experts who could offer informed suggestions on what to do and what not to do.”

Clubessential made sure not to let Dana down. We put CHCC’s goals front and center as we kicked off the planning phase of the project and began working with Brandy and Lauren to map out everything that lied ahead.

“I’d been involved in other website redesign projects, but not quite to this extent, and I’ve never had the opportunity to work with Clubessential,” said Lauren. “When comparing to my previous experiences, it was like night and day! Where the other companies provided little guidance, and insight, the Clubessential team made sure everything was clear and to the point, ensuring we would stay on target and launch a successful website.”

From an aesthetic standpoint, the website’s success was apparent right away.

The new look and feel accurately portrayed the Club’s unique charm, and better presented the value the Club brings to the lives of anyone who’s ever been part of the CHCC community.

The public home page features rotating hi-resolution images which captivate viewers and spur membership and special event inquiries. The members-only side delivers a vibrant new communication channel to members via a desktop, tablet, and smartphone friendly design.

While the design is certainly eye-catching, Brandy recognizes that on the web, beauty is skin deep; there is more to a website than just having a pretty design: “I enjoy using the back-end information (synced to the website from Jonas), to hyper-target certain membership groups for upcoming events. The data we pull over from the accounting system gives us knowledge of our members’ prior involvement at the club, and the Clubessential tools help me act upon that knowledge by engaging those members.”

Additionally, with the addition of the Clubessential Online Tee Times system, engaging members has only been amplified.

“Since launching the new website we’ve received a ton of positive feedback from members regarding the more modern look and ease-of-use. That said, by far the biggest impact we’ve seen has been the increased number of members who are logging in to book online tee times. Moving from paper and pen to the Clubessential online tee times system is something we had been considering for years, and we felt that the timing was right to add the system during the redesign. Our staff and our members are glad we made that decision.”

When asked to sum up her feelings about partnering with us, Brandy said simply: “Clubessential helps to make my job easier.”
